A BIG Thank for all who have taken the time to come to one of our
shows or dances!
We are really staying busy! Every time I turn around I am WAY behind on my updates! Well, much has happened...
First and foremost with my recovery from the car/truck crash I wish to thank
the multitudes of people for their concerns and prayers. I am doing a little
better each day. As I figure it I will be absolutely perfect in 85 to 90 years J I am starting to
get around better and my stamina is improving. Again I thank you!!!
As many of you know we own and operate an internet radio station called Thunderbolt Radio.
What you may not know is that we are very successful and have close to 200
different artists on our play list! Log on to listen while you surf the web! We
would appreciate it! Log in at http://www.live365.com/stations/thunderboltradio
We are currently spending the winter months in
Arizona. It is helping me recover and
it gives us a great opportunity to gain more fans from all across North America
as many folks from all over winter here as well.
Last year we went on tour to England and Scotland. We have plans to return soon but are unsure as to the status of our return due to difficulties the promoter who is booking us is having with work visas. We will keep you posted.
“Old Blue”our famous ( or more likely infamous) 1952 Studebaker is off the road for a while. We are giving it a much needed brake job and a little cosmetic overhaul. It has over 500,000 miles on it, so it has earned the small dose of TLC. The accident has slowed my mechanical repair ability quite a bit. We still have the other Studebakers and you will see them from time to time at the gigs!
Farm and Ranch news...... As many of you know, I am an old ranch kid. This next year I will be managing the old home place. I will do quite a bit of the harvesting. I never sold my machinery, so I am busy taking it out of mothballs and getting it 100% field ready.
Summer Shows...... We have several big gigs this summer. More details as I
get them.
In Tribute...... We lost a good friend and fellow musician, Ray Custer from Wichita. Ray was one of a kind, and a descendent of General George Armstrong Custer. Ray was a pioneer in Big Band music and had his own bands in the 1930's. Ray was one of the first band leaders of an inter racial band. He being white, his players black. Ray was quite the dresser and he always dressed up in his cool 30's era "Zoot suit king of swing" clothes. Ray believed in Chris and I, and for that we are eternally grateful. We will miss you friend!
New Albums..... We are in the process of producing new albums and will give more information as time goes on.
We have a great year lined up as we will be averaging 4 performances per week. We will be all over Kansas, and Oklahoma, Arizona and Nebraska! What is neat is we see many of the same faces everywhere we go! Thanks! It is great to see friends from Stillwater, Oklahoma and Dodge City and Salina, Kansas all at one of our performances in Wichita! Some of you folks are on the road as much as we are!
We realize that many of you have been to see us perform many times this year. And considering that admission of $5.00 to $10.00 is charged, depending on the venue, a rather large number of folks have spent $10.00 to $50.00 a month, for several months, in admission to see us! This does not include your transportation etc....... This is truly humbling to us......... We can't thank our loyal fans enough!
Check our schedule to see if we will be near you!
We are going all out to expand our market. We are learning lots of new material and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. It is hard to stay "cutting edge" in the music business at this point in time. There is definitely no industry trend, only a myriad of "mini trends" that we feel do not have any staying power. So, our list of songs that we are learning are all across the board! We are also adding many more original songs to our playlist also.
