Great Harmony Collection &
Story
Recent letter to me...............
Hello Jim, First of all, I must say that the Harmony Guitar
site is w/o a doubt
my favorite site on the internet. I've learned
so much from it.
I just could'nt pass up the chance to tell you about my
recent e-Bay find.
I've been searching for a Catalina model for some time
now, I've only ever really
seen two, one was on e-Bay a few years ago that I missed
out on and the
other is hanging in a great guitar shop called Alley
Cat Music in State College, PA.
That one is part of his private collection though so it's
not for sale. You can bet
that I was surprised when I was searching e-Bay and found
this Catalina
freshly listed with an opening bid of $100. The
guy was from the same
state as I am so I wrote him a friendly e-mail asking
what part of the state
he lived in. Then, just for the heck of it I asked
him if he would
take an offer to "Buy It Now." He wrote right back
to me and said sure,
make an offer. I started out at $150 and he wrote
back and said sold, he was
taking down the auction. I was very excited to
say the least.
Also pictured is my prized Harmony Hollywood model with
a case that my wife painted for me. The third picture is one of my
three favorite Harmony's: the Catalina, Hollywood, and my single pickup
Rocket. I love them all! Again, I can't tell you enough how
much I enjoy your web site. I hope that you enjoy these pictures
and my little story as much as I have enjoyed typing it to you. Thanks
so much for your time...and for the bridge for the Catalina.
