Mayatone

In the family tree of musical
instruments and related gear, there are always a few branches that are off by
themselves and lead to nowhere in particular, and such is the case for the
Mayatone.
Information about this unit is scarce, parts and service manuals even more so.
The preset rhythms are March, Fox
Trot, Swing, Tango, R&B, Rock, Bossa Nova, Samba, Mambo, Cha Cha, Rhumba.
The most interesting feature is the sustain knob on the front panel. Also on
front is a volume and tempo control.
The Mayatone has good sounds for it's
time, and the pre-set rhythm patterns are good, but nothing spectacular.
The model above is the MT-31 and it was designed to be sold in an organ shop.
The unit sits on top of your old organ that didn't have a built in rhythm
section. This was a good idea and many units of all makes and models were sold
for this purpose.

In the early 1970's the MRK-1 set new standards in the industry. These machines

widely sampled.
