Harmony used as many "standard" pieces of hardware as they could. After all, they were building instruments for folks who could not afford a "good" instrument. Us Harmony freaks know, you sometimes get allot more than what you paid for!

I am still researching, and this is a HOBBY you know, but here I sit at 3 AM trying to make time for this! I would not do it if I did not enjoy it though!

What I have found out so far.......

Harmony used generic tuning machines most of the time. They were mostly open gear type. Every once in a while, the factory would install a set of Kluson machines. I have seen them on the cheapest and most expensive models, so I have not found the rhyme or reason for this yet.

Bridges were also for the most part generic, with the exception of the solidbody bridges, that I have not found their origin.

Tremolos were mostly all imports with the exception of the Bigsbys. The H19 has a tremolo made by Hagstrom of Sweden and the cheaper terms were most likely Japanese.

The jacks and switches were sometimes Switchcraft and other times Japanese imports.

The pickups were DeArmond designs, made by Rowe Industries. They are good pickups.

I do not know who made the strap buttons, pickguards and knobs, they may have been in house, but I doubt it.
