HARMONY CLASSIC GUITARS
Harmony manufactured Classic guitars from the mid 1960's through the mid 1970's. They are decent student and intermediate guitars. Harmony did not enter the high end market in their nylon stringed classic guitars.
Harmony Model 910
This is a fine example of a Harmony Classic guitar. Originally it was owned by Darlene Maszle from Rochester N.Y. It is now owned by her daughter Erin Maszle who is attending Oklahoma State University.
The model is a 173 with spruce top and fan rib bracings. It sold new for in the $80.00 range. These models are now worth $100 - $200, depending on condition. This is a good sounding guitar, serving two generations!
Technical Tip:
When re-stringing a classic guitar it is important
that you leave quite a bit of length on the strings. This gives you many
loops around the peg, and in most cases the more times around the peg,
the better. Also, the nylon strings tend to stretch forever, and it will
take many tunings before it will "settle" and stay in tune. Be patient!

Technical Tip:
Never, ever for ANY reason use steel strings on classic style guitars. It will damage the structure of the guitar, bow the top and possibly pull up the bridge. This is not true for only Harmony guitars, this applies to ALL classic guitars!
