The key to their success in the entertainment industry is their ability to adapt to any situation that they encounter. The Calhouns are extremely versatile and perform a wide variety of music styles in a fun, energetic way.
Jim is a strong vocalist and multi-talented musician and entertainer. He is an excellent guitarist and also plays fiddle, harmonica, mandolin, bass and steel guitar.
Chris is also a versatile performer. She is a fine vocalist and bass player. She also plays keyboard and saxophone. Chris truly is a crowd favorite!
Their vocal abilities compliment each other in the many harmonies they sing.
The Calhouns are not over processed or pre-programmed. They do not use any pre-recorded material whatsoever. Their only electronic backup is a simple drum machine.
The shows consist of lots of great music, generously mixed with comedy and crowd participation.
Their dance sets do not contain the show material, their dances feature non-stop dance music.
The Calhouns do not apply a "one size fits all" mentality, as they specialize very well. You can't find a harder working, more dedicated show band than the Calhouns!
And when it comes to dance music, you will not find another band that can crank out the dance tunes and keep 'em dancin' like Jim and Chris can!
